Teresa Hubbell sums up ministry activity.
Curtis set up the Kidz Zone with our Florida team for Daytona BiketoberFest in fall. They were located at the Deland Assembly on International Speedway Blvd. I joined him for Roscoe's Chili Challenge in Lakeland (one of the most difficult outreaches we do all year because of the adult atmosphere). Not only was he able to do the memorial service Sunday morning from the main stage again which was attended by patch clubmembers, but the event promoter also asked him to do the invocation for the Saturday evening opening ceremony with military flags (a lot of bikers are ex-military). It is amazing the doors the Lord has opened for His Word to be heard by more people...these are things that we couldn't have accomplished on our own!
We've been gearing up for our Spring Tour. Mid-February we'll hit the road running with one of our largest outreaches of the year: the Colorado Springs Super Show & Swap. Last year we had over 400 children signed-in (some don't sign-in to play on the inflatable activities but just go through our free family Christian literature tables). Then we need to be off to Daytona Bike Week that next week to get ready for Daytona Bike Week. We've been working hard to become a destination in Daytona. If all goes as we hope, we'll be more than just the Kidz Zone, but a family-friendly event/outreach with vendors, bands, and free food. This is a huge undertaking for us as it involves a lot of Christian children's workers, Christian vendors, and various Christian patch holders all working together with the goal of promoting God's kingdom together. We're breaking some new ground here and this venture needs to be undergirded by prayer. Please join us in praying for unity of purpose of all involved, hearts prepared to hear His Word, that God would reign over the whole bunch of details, peace and wisdom for us as we walk through this awesome opportunity, and overall, that His will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
As we transition to a larger outreach audience in order to reach more families in the dark biker culture, we are feeling the stretch and growth. The semi-trailer is in process of being converted into half living quarters and half storage/hauling capacity. It will take some time yet before it's ready for use with the truck as there's much to be done including learning how to drive the truck. Please pray for this process.
